During a year of turmoil and turnover at KNTV in 1998, I was headhunted by the then-NBC affilaite KRON to work as an assignment editor for their BayTV 9 o’clock news. This is the letter I wrote to the news director at the time.

Scrapbook: 1001 Thanks (KRON-TV) – 1999
When I worked at KRON-TV in the late 1990s, they had this program called “1001 Thanks” – named after the street address, 1001 Van Ness. The program allowed anyone – coworkers, supervisors, interns or otherwise, publicly thank a fellow employee with a note. A carbon copy went in your permanent personnel file. Of all the thanks I got, this one was particularly touching to me. It reminds me that no matter how small we think our job is, that we still can have a big impact on the lives of those around us.
