1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter, softened
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups Quaker oats (Quick or old-fashioned)
1 cup raisins
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Beat together margarine and sugars until creamy.
Add eggs and vanilla, beat well.
Add combined flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; mix well.
Stir in oats and raisins; mix well.
Drop by spoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
Cool 1 minutes on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.
Makes about 4 dozen.

This is the second kid this year to be suspended (pending expulsion) from Carroll High School do to negative commentary about the administration. My question is this: How many kids need to be suspended before the administration takes a piece of humble pie and says “Hey, maybe there is a little room for improvement.” I don\’t know the GPAs or the class rank of the kids who were suspended (both being seniors), but I know I\’m the 3rd or 4th student to openly complain. Not because I want to cause trouble, but because I want to cause \’\'change.\’\’ I love school and I love learning. I\’m an Honors student that will be graduating with an Academic Honors Diploma. I take two foreign languages, honors english, and AP Government. I have a job and I take voice lessons. I\’m going far in life.
